Project: Cromwell Street, Stornoway

JobRepaving of Cromwell Street
Description

Cromwell Street was selected as an example of how the Stornoway public realm could be transformed with repaving.

Natural Caithness slabs and granite blocks were selected for the repaving, along with inscribed slabs prepared in conjunction with the Stornoway Historical Society.

A summary of the history of the local shop premises was produced and made available to the residents and visitors of the area.

As part of the public realm development, the old street feature has been replaced, along with the litter bins and seating.

It is hoped that the new look of Cromwell Street will be extended to the rest of the town centre.
