Our Story

1975

Larsen Begins

Larsen started in 1975 in Antrim, Northern Ireland. Initially selling admixtures to various concrete plants throughout Northern Ireland.

1984

West Bank Road

The company later moved to Belfast Harbour Estate in 1984, to be the first building established on the newly reclaimed Industrial Estate on West Bank Road.

The 90's

Continued expansion

The factory was extended three times during the 90's as the company diversified into manufacturing products. The range of products expanded from concrete admixtures into liquid building chemicals, epoxy resins, wood preservatives, putty and some powder products.

1999

A new market

The factory was extended three times during the 90's as the company diversified into manufacturing products. The range of products expanded from concrete admixtures into liquid building chemicals, epoxy resins, wood preservatives, putty and some powder products.

2008

The Building Boom

The building boom in Ireland during the early 2000's encouraged Larsen to build a state of the art powder plant opened in 2008, increasing capacity more than 10 fold and triggering an entry into the GB market with a sales office established near Birmingham.

2020

45 Years in Business

2020 marked our 45th year in business. These years have seen Larsen Building Products go from strength to strength. Larsen have now established itself as the largest manufacturer of builders merchants products in all of Ireland.

Future Plans
2022

Looking to the future

As sales continue to grow, with over half of our total sales now in Great Britain, a 7 acre manufacturing site was acquired in Derbyshire, England, to build a new factory.

2025

50th Year Celebrations

Larsen Celebrates 50 Years of Excellence. Business continues to soar with Larsen products being used in incredible Streetscape, Tiling, Flooring & Hi-Performance projects throughout Ireland and the UK. Larsen’s 50th anniversary marked a perfect time to refresh our Belfast headquarters with all new interiors and new signage installed on the 50m tall Larsen Tower on our McCaughey Road site. As part of our golden anniversary milestone, we are continuing to roll out new and refreshed product packaging. We are also investing in a new website so our customers can get the information they need faster and educate themselves about our products with ease. We are continuously developing our library of product application videos and leaning into our digital channels to bring more of the Larsen brand to our customers.
